A szezonális étkezés egy egyszerű, mégis forradalmi szokás: azt eszed, ami éppen terem. Nincs benne különösebb varázslat – csupán visszatérés a természet ritmusához, a helyi termelők támogatásához, és egy olyan étkezési kultúrához, ami egyszerre egészséges, fenntartható és ízletes.

De miért fontos ez? És hogyan kezdj bele, ha eddig nem figyeltél a szezonokra? Mutatjuk.

1. Mi az a szezonális étkezés?

Szezonális étkezés alatt azt értjük, hogy olyan zöldségeket, gyümölcsöket, gabonákat fogyasztunk, amelyek abban az időszakban természetesen teremnek, amikor elfogyasztjuk őket.

Télen például a káposztafélék, gyökérzöldségek, tavasszal a spárga és retek, nyáron pedig az uborka, paradicsom és cseresznye kerülnek előtérbe.

2. Miért jó ez neked?

  • Tápanyagdúsabb: A frissen szedett termények több vitamint és ásványi anyagot tartalmaznak, mint a hónapokkal korábban leszedett, raktározott vagy messziről importált társaik.
  • Jobb az ízük: Egy napérlelte, friss paradicsom nyáron össze sem hasonlítható az üvegházi téli változattal.
  • Olcsóbb: A szezonális termények nem igényelnek mesterséges érlelést vagy hosszú szállítást, így kedvezőbb áron kaphatók.
  • Változatos étrend: A természet évszakos körforgása ösztönöz a változatosságra, ami egészségileg is előnyös.

3. Miért jó ez a Földnek?

  • Rövidebb szállítási láncok: Kevesebb üzemanyag, alacsonyabb CO₂ kibocsátás.
  • Kevesebb csomagolás: A helyi, friss áruknál gyakran elkerülhető a műanyag csomagolás.

4. Hogyan kezdj bele?

Tarts otthon egy szezonális naptárt (pl. nyomtatható verzió vagy applikáció), és mindig nézd meg, mi van éppen szezonban.

– Vásárolj piacon vagy közvetlenül termelőtől

Ez a legjobb módja, hogy valóban friss, helyi termékekhez juss.

– Tervezd az étrended a szezonhoz

Ne fordítva tervezz! Először nézd meg, mit kapsz frissen, és abból állítsd össze a heti menüt.
Ez a módszer egyszerű, olcsóbb, és csökkenti az ételpazarlást is.
